ABOUT ATU
The “Albanian Tourism Union” association was founded in 2005 and it’s an independent association which has as its mission and purpose the protection of rights and interests of all subjects that operate in the field of tourism.
Chairman of the association is Mr. Rrahman Kasa, one of the founders of this Association. Its activity is based on the Statute drafted since its establishment in 2005 and last modified by the General Assembly in February 2016.
The Albanian Tourist Union is one of the main contributors to the development of the Albanian tourism industry and since its foundation up to now continues to be a major force for tourism development and also playing an important role in the sector of economy and resources through an interaction between social and economic sectors, coordinating joint state and private business efforts to make it possible to increase its members’ incomes.
Since its foundation around 600 subjects have joined the association.
The Association is an active structure at the level of the Albanian Tourism Chamber and organized with sectors and branches throughout Albania. The association is composed of several Incoming tour operators with the potential and experience to handle and host a significant number of tourists from different countries of the world.
Currently many of these operators are collaborating with well known international operators from different countries such as Poland, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Denmark, Japan, Italy, Czech rep etc.
Our main work, activity and mission consist in:
- Initiating legal initiatives for state decision-making structures and giving opinions for the improvement of legal and sub legal acts, in order to construct fair rules for the economy market in the field of tourism.
- Lobbying and protecting the interests of its members, resolving disputes between members and confronting them with state institutions
- Cooperation with International Associations, donors, international forums, making cooperation partnerships with other tour operators in the Balkans, Europe or the World.
- Organizing a large number of activities and informative events to promote Albania's tourism potential as well as the activity of tour operators involved in the association.
- Has contributed to the publication of tourism promotion tools, such as newsletters, newspapers, journals, some of which are periodical tourism structures.
- It has preceded Albanian tourism development with studies, conferences, trainings etc. by creating its own institutions to accomplish these goals.
- Designing projects in the field of Albanian tourism development, by cooperating with other Albanian or foreign organizations, to receive donations from foreign or Albanian donors, implementation of various projects for the development of Albanian tourism.
